The annual Meet the Graduates & Colleagues Event is hosted by AACAI, and is a great opportunity for graduate students heading towards submission, and recent graduates seeking employment, to engage with archaeology and cultural heritage companies and organisations in a relaxed and catered environment. There’ll even be a chance to snag an awesome door prize at the end of the night!
The Australian Association of Consulting Archaeologists Incorporated (AACAI) is Australia’s peak representative body for professional and consulting archaeologists. AACAI promotes a spirit of co-operation amongst consulting archaeologists; it promotes the training and mentoring of students in archaeology; it encourages adherence to professional standards and ethics; and it advocates for the engagement of First Nations peoples in all archaeological consulting work.

The Rainbow Dinner is an initiative promoting inclusivity within the Australian archaeological community. It provides a platform for networking and discussion for LGBTIQA+ individuals and allies, recognising and supporting the diversity of professionals and students in the field. The event is an opportunity for attendees to exchange ideas about ways to encourage diversity and inclusion in archaeology and to learn about the efforts of AAA in this regard. The Rainbow Dinner is not just a social event; it represents a commitment to creating a more inclusive archaeological community. It’s an important step towards ensuring that the field of archaeology is welcoming and representative of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.
